Film Theory: The New Batman Big Bad

So I was browsing YouTube this morning and these guys started talking about how the new Batman movie won't be an action movie but instead a murder mystery maybe taking place entirly at Arkham Asylum. I thought they made some good points so I decided to throw together my own theories. Apparently it won't be another Batman Begins but he will also be considerably too young to think he would have a Robin yet so clearly the Red Hood and Dick Greyson are clear from this list.

My TOP 5 Picks for the murder victim:

5. Commissioner Lobe: He's a police commissioner and his last name isn't Gordon so if you here this guys name thrown around in the early minutes of the movie then it's a safe bet he's not long for this world.

4. Hush: If Hush is the Big Bad you can bet he would fake his own death to get the whole thing started. I sort of hope they go a more creative route than borrowing this story again.

3. The Riddler: It's been sort of the new thing to kill this guy off or play him down. That new Hush movie even had the gaul to call him a C-Level Batman villain. Am I the only one who remembers the 60's Batman? This guy was the Boss in that!

2. Some rando: Yeah it could also just be some random person who turns out to be Penguin's mom or something.

1. The Joker: If the movie takes place in a rioting Arkham Asylum then who is everyone going to suspect would be behind it? Mr. J! So what better way to subvert expectations than to kill him off in the first act? You could even have Jared Letto come back for a brief cameo before he is unceremoniously snuffed out.

My TOP 5 Picks for the Big Bad:

5. Hush: He was recently featured in the cartoons DC has been producing so he could very well be on everyone's mind still. Although I still hope they don't do this because I feel it's too soon.

4. Clayface: What harder foe could the World's Greatest Detective face than a guy who could become anyone?

3. Some Rando: What better way to subvert everyone's expectations that to make it some... you get it right?

2. The Warden: who would be the biggest bad in an asylum? The guy running it usually and 99.99999% of the time in DC that means you are for some reason super crooked.

1. The Guy you thought was dead this whole time: Ever since Saw and Scream before it this has just been the total thing to do. Hush shows up and reveals that he's the dead guy (especially if that guy is Jared Letto). Just what better way to hide?
