Movie Review: Dark Phoenix

Ranking: Like trying Octopus Jerky for the first time. Everything in your mind tells you it's going to be horrible but once you're there it's oh so good

I went into this movie thinking it was going to be awful like Age of Apocolyps but it was actually pretty good. There was a few scenes where James AMcAvoy hams it up (ie: You've been lying on the ground for like 5 minutes, why are you out of breath? I mean yeah a lot of dramatic stuff happened but that shouldn't make you winded just from watching.), Jennifer Lawrence's performance was super phoned in (Kind of like she was reading from a teleprompter and the lack of the once iconic full body Mystic makeup replaced with a Smurf mask surely doesn't help.), the continuity is garbage (Although if you ever read the X-men comics... I'm just saying. Not as solid as you remember growing up.), naming the school after Jean Grey instead of Raven at the end is just mind boggling, and if you can just try to ignore that whole MCU thing and the previous stink-quiles and just look at it as a stand alone then your in for a treat.
